All the need-to-know information to make the most of Queer Ascent and your time in Truckee, California.

From check-in details and accommodation options to gear requirements and frequently asked questions, we've compiled all the essential information to ensure a seamless and enjoyable adventure during Arc'teryx Queer Ascent.

All clinics will take place in and around Donner Summit at a variety of crags and trailheads. Clinic participants will be required to drive and are encouraged to carpool from the morning check-in point to the trailhead where your clinic is taking place.

Be sure to plan your journey, check the road conditions, and know where you need to be for check-in on site.
• Climbing shoes AND approach shoes
• Harness
• Functional and warm clothes
• Backpack
• Waterproof protection (jacket and pants as needed - weather dependent)
• Gloves
• Sun protection (sunglasses, hat, sunscreen, lip protection)
• First aid kit
• Water bottle
• Food - please bring enough food and water (at least 2 liters) for a full day in the mountains

We've partnered with Alpenglow Expeditions to provide complimentary gear rentals. If you need gear, simply indicate your requirement during clinic registration or reach out to us via email: events@arcteryx.com.
Attendees can enjoy complimentary camping at Upper Little Truckee Campground, conveniently located just a 15-20 minute drive from Downtown Truckee and 25-30 minutes from Donner Summit.

Upon registering for a clinic, you'll receive a confirmation email securing your spot. Please take note of the clinic check-in time, required equipment, and any other important details.
Once registered for a clinic, you will receive an email confirming your spot.
Please ensure you fill out the required waiver from our guiding partners prior to your clinic. Please note, there are two waivers required, one from Arc'teryx (embedded in the registration form) and one from our guiding partners, Alpenglow Expeditions.
Further details surrounding your clinic will be sent to you via email a week or two before your clinic.
By purchasing a spot in a climbing clinic, you get automatic free entry to our other Queer Ascent weekend programming, including Thursday:Â Clinic Participant Mix and Mingler, Friday:Â Queer Film Night and Panel Discussion, and Saturday:Â Queer Prom.
Rest assured, if there are any changes regarding your clinic, we'll contact you directly.

Free onsite rentals are available; please email events@arcteryx.com with your rental needs to ensure availability. Weather and conditions may vary, so it's advisable to come prepared, even if you might not use everything.
HOW TO OPT-IN
Please email us at events@arcteryx.com to request a spot at the campsite. Please note reservations are first come, first serve.

• The number of cars you will be bringing to the campsite, as well as your license plate number

The campground is a 15-20 minute drive to Downtown Truckee, and 25-30 minutes from Donner Summit.
• Bears frequent the area; all food must be kept in approved containers.
• Off-road vehicle use is prohibited within the campground.
• Fire restrictions may be imposed at any time due to hot, dry weather conditions, at which time campfires and charcoal fires may not be allowed. For current fire conditions or weather closures contact the Sierraville Ranger District (530) 994-3401 (voice), (530) 994-3521 (TDD).
• Don't Move Firewood: Protect California's forests from tree-killing pests by buying your firewood locally and burning it on-site. For more information visit firewood.ca.gov.
We've partnered with the Truckee Hotel to offer European style rooms (shared amenities and facilities) at a rate of $50 USD/per night.
These rooms and rates are only available from June 4th-7th; they are non transferrable outside of these dates and are final sale upon booking.
HOW TO OPT-IN
Please email manager@truckeehotel.com with "Queer Ascent" in the email header to book your accommodation and be sure to highlight in your email that you are with the Arc'teryx group to ensure that you are receiving our subsidized rate.

PLEASE NOTE
The rooms have their own sinks, in the European tradition, and share baths down the hall. There are nine hall bathrooms throughout the hotel, each designed for individual use with privately locking doors, all in immaculate condition.
