Climbing is expanding your limits, developing supportive friendships, and being true to who you are — welcome to Arc’teryx Queer Ascent. Returning for its third year!
Set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Sierra Nevada in Truckee, California, Arc’teryx Queer Ascent is a place for 2SLGBTQIA+ climbers of all skill levels to learn from world-class athletes within the community, experience the outdoors safely, and climb with pride.
Alongside the daytime climbing clinics taught by our queer athletes and guides, there is a fully stacked evening program of inclusive events, including presentations, film screenings, special guests, live music, and more.
So pack your gear and make it clear — climbing is Queer.
Jordan came to the Arc'teryx team with a vision born from his experiences at the Arc'teryx Academies and his active involvement in 2SLGBTQIA+ gatherings.
His goal? To seamlessly blend these realms together, creating a welcoming space for the queer climbing community.
“I'm just looking to bring together more queer climbers in a fun, laid-back way. I want folks to leave feeling uplifted and inspired not only by the new friends they've made, but by the supportive community they've fostered over the weekend as well. Whether they're meeting people, checking out clinics, or just enjoying the scenery around Donner Summit, I hope everyone walks away feeling empowered by their queerness and the community that surrounds them. Plus, with the event kicking off in June, right at the start of Pride Month, I'm hoping to set the tone for a summer filled with fun climbing and good vibes. Ultimately, I just want everyone to feel stoked after this event and ready to bring that positive energy back into their own communities."
Get ready to kick off your weekend with a splash of socializing at our Clinic Participant Mix & Mingler!
Join fellow climbers from the queer community for an evening of laughter and camaraderie, featuring light bites, drinks, and goodie bags, as well as the Athletes and Guides who are facilitating the weekend.
Arc'teryx, Truckee Pride, and Tahoe Climbing Coalition are helping clean up the beaches and surrounding area of Donner Lake to give back to this beautiful place we love so much.
Let's do our part to give back and wrap up an awesome weekend. We'll have water, treats, and we recommend bringing a swimsuit in case you want to jump in the lake after!
